Fried Idli


  1. Use the refrigerated /a day old idli for this recipe.
  2. Cut these idlies into wedges.
  3. Heat the oil in a pan for frying. Add idli pieces into hot oil. After some time, keep moving and turning for even browning.
  4. Once done remove and drain the excess oil. Keep them on paper towel lined plate.
  5. While it is still hot or warm, sprinkle chaat masala on top.

Version 2

  1. Use the refrigerated /a day old idli for this recipe.
  2. Cut these idlies into wedges.
  3. Sprinkle and cover these wedges with a little bit of red chilly powder & pepper powder and a pinch of salt.
  4. Heat the oil in a pan for frying. Add idli pieces into hot oil. After some time, keep moving and turning for even browning.
  5. Once done remove and drain the excess oil. Keep them on paper towel lined plate.
